My art is an extension of myself, a reflection of my emotions and memories. My name is Devon Crowe and I am an impulsive traditionalist painter that reinvents the techniques and practices created by master artists before my time. Working in mostly oil paints my main influences in my technique were 17th century painters working in the Italian renaissance, and Dutch golden age. I stick to a limited palette for my paintings and utilize my understanding of color theory to get my unique feeling. My main goal for my paintings is to capture my world, my surroundings, and show them to an audience where they can capture the emotional scenario I set out.
